Taguig City – PNOC RC ending the year 2016 with the Inauguration of the UP Diliman Solar rooftop project.  This 40kW project is the first of 3 Solar Rooftop facilities that will be installed in the UP Diliman Campus.

UP Diliman is the first Academic Institution partner of PNOC Renewables Corporation. Signed the MOA last February and took PNOC RC three months and a half to complete the construction of the Quezon Hall. The Melchor and Palma Hall with 100kW Solar Facilities will be completed in the first quarter of 2017.

This first venture project of PNOC Renewables Corporation will be followed by a MOA with another UP Campus, UP Los Baños engaging in the latter’s Energy Efficiency Project on LED bulb replacement of approximately 26,000 bulbs for all the nominated buildings in the Los Baños campus, an attestation that the government agencies are doing its share in the Climate Change Adaptation.

As mentioned in the President Pascual’s message, “The University of the Philippines has the Green UP as one of its strategic initiatives, we intend to support the government's thrust in promoting Renewable Energy so we can have a clean environment. This thrust is also supportive of the Sustainable development goals, one of which is the goal for affordable and clean energy. PNOC as we know is a government entity providing services to help other organizations to adapt clean energy projects. We see PNOC RC to be committed to the same goal that we have as demonstrated by the men and women who have worked with us in developing the project that we signed on.”

Atty Gladys Nalda, VP of PNOC Renewables Corporation in the same occasion responded to the UP President’s message by saying: “PNOC Renewables Corporation is happy to do the partnership with UP Diliman and committed to be the government’s arm in the development and implementation of RE and EE programs in partnership among Government agencies. Looking forward to more projects not only in the UP Diliman campus but the rest of the campuses nationwide.”
